Precautions for painting steel structure with
One-Component Acrylic Topcoat
One-Component Acrylic Topcoat is a protective topcoat with excellent comprehensive properties. It has the characteristics of high weather resistance, high gloss, solvent resistance, acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, and good decoration. Most coatings have outstanding anti-corrosion properties or excellent decoration properties. Acrylic polyurethane topcoats take into account these two characteristics. Therefore, they have a wide range of applications in the field of steel structure coating.
For the coating of steel structures, different coating schemes can be selected according to the requirements, and the matching method of primer-intermediate paint-top paint is often used for anti-corrosion protection. Epoxy zinc-rich primer + epoxy mica intermediate paint + acrylic polyurethane topcoat is a more efficient coating method, and each layer of paint plays a different role.
Epoxy zinc-rich primer: In direct contact with the steel structure, zinc powder provides cathodic protection, protects the steel from corrosion, and has excellent adhesion to the substrate. Before applying the next coat of epoxy zinc-rich primer, check whether there is zinc salt on the paint surface. If found, remove it in time to avoid affecting the adhesion between layers.
Epoxy Mica Intermediate Paint: As an intermediate coating, it has excellent adhesion, connects the primer and topcoat, and can be applied in thick coating. Mica iron oxide has good shielding properties and enhances the anti-corrosion properties of the overall coating.
Acrylic polyurethane topcoat: Provides anti-corrosion and decorative properties for the coating, while protecting the bottom coating. The outermost part of the overall coating must have strong protection to ensure long-term protection of the steel structure. Acrylic polyurethane topcoat resists most of the external corrosive media, prevents it from corroding the substrate through the coating, and plays a vital role in the anti-corrosion of the project.
