Chlorosulfonic acid (chemical formula :ClSO2OH) is a colorless or yellowish liquid with a pungent odor that smokes in the air. It is a compound formed when one of the OH groups of sulfuric acid is replaced by chlorine. The molecule is tetrahedral configuration, and the substituted group is between sulfuric acid and sulfuryl chloride, which is lacrimogenic. It is mainly used for the sulfonation of organic compounds and the preparation of drugs, dyes, pesticides, detergents and so on.

1. Mainly used in the manufacture of sulfonamide drugs, saccharin and the manufacture of dye intermediates sulfonation agent, also used in the manufacture of pesticides, detergents, ion exchange resins, plastics, military smoke agent. 2. Main raw materials for industrial pickling. As a sulfonating agent, also used in the production of pesticides, detergents, ion exchange resins, drugs and saccharin, etc. 3. Used for manufacturing sulfonamide drugs, used as dye intermediates, sulfonating agent, dehydrating agent and used for synthesizing saccharin, etc.
5. 1. Decomposition in the presence of alcohol and acid. Smoke is emitted in the air. It breaks down in humid air to form sulfuric acid and hydrogen chloride. A strong acid with a rather weak S -- Cl bond. Reaction with hydrocarbons, alcohols, phenols, amines and other organic compounds to form organic derivatives. Pyrosulfuryl chloride is formed on contact with a strong dehydrating agent such as sulfur trioxide. It is highly hygroscopic and corrosive. Chlorosulfonic acid smokes strongly in humid air and reacts violently with water to decompose into HCl and H2SO4. Chlorosulfonic acid is mainly used as a sulfonating agent in organic synthesis reactions.

8. 4. Avoid contact conditions [13] Humid air
9. 5. Polymerization hazard [14] No polymerization
10.6. Decomposition products [15] hydrogen chloride and sulfur oxide
Precautions for storage [16] Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated special storage room, the implementation of "double transceiver, double custody" system. The storage temperature shall not exceed 30℃, and the relative humidity shall not exceed 75%. The packing must be sealed away from moisture. It should be stored separately from combustible materials, acids, bases, alcohols and active metal powder, and should not be mixed. The storage area shall be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and suitable storage materials.
